Roderick Green is a three-time Paralympic athlete hailing from West Monroe, Louisiana. He went on to play basketball at Oklahoma Christian University on scholarship where he received his degree in physical education and nutrition. He began his Paralympic career competing in track and field events and won 3 medals in the 2000 Sydney Paralympics including a silver in the 200m, bronze in the 400m and bronze in the long jump. He also participated in the 2004 Athens Paralympic games in the 100m and long jump events. He went on to coach track and field athletes in both the 2008 and 2012 Paralympics. He joined the US Men’s Sitting Volleyball Team and participated in the 2016 Paralympic games in Rio where he was the team’s leading scorer. In 2016 he was named the USA Volleyball Male Sitting Player of the Year. He has medaled at the Parapan American Games four times including 1 gold and 3 silver medals and has participated in numerous international events. Roderick was born with genetic fibula hemimelia and his leg was amputated below the knee when he was 2 years old. He co-founded a non-profit organization, Amputee Basketball Invigorated, which helps raise money for those with medical needs, mainly amputees. Roderick is a current member of USA Volleyball Men’s Sitting National Team.

Dr. Alexis Jones is a Clinical Associate Professor at OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine at the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, OK. She obtained her PhD in Physiology from OSU Center for Health Sciences and has since been actively involved in teaching and research involving medical and graduate students in the area of physiology and exercise science. Dr. Jones’s research interests include investigating emotional responses to exercise in order to tailor exercise prescriptions to individuals and identifying approaches to increase exercise participation in rural/tribal communities; she has published her work in journals such as the International Journal of Exercise Science, the Journal of Applied PhysiologyComparative Exercise Physiology, and Physiology and Behavior. In addition to her research endeavors, Dr. Jones is also committed to mentoring students as a Faculty Mentor, teaching students in the COM program, and promoting wellness at OSU through Pete’s Pet Posse.
